Accessibility Statement

The Yale University Dramatic Association has taken measures to ensure as pleasant of a viewing experience as possible for all viewers of this website.

Markup Compliance

At any given time, at least 98% of this website is guaranteed to be compliant with the XHTML 1.0 Transitional standard, as defined by the World Wide Web Consortium. Furthermore, at least 98% of this website meets or exceeds the U.S. Section 508 guidelines for accessibility, as adopted by the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board of the U.S. Federal government, and/or Bobby Priority 1 Accessibility ("A Approved") status.

Access Keys

Most browsers support jumping to specific links by typing keys defined on the web site. On Windows, you can press ALT + an access key; on Macintosh, you can press Control + an access key.

Visual design

  1. This site uses cascading style sheets for visual layout.
  2. This site uses only relative font sizes, compatible with the user-specified text size option in visual browsers.
  3. If your browser or browsing device does not support stylesheets at all, as in the case of a text-only browser, the content of a majority of the pages in the public realm are still viewable.

Images

  1. All content images used in this site include descriptive ALT attributes.
  2. Purely decorative graphics include null ALT attributes.
  3. Where appropriate, complex images include LONGDESC attributes or inline descriptions to explain the significance of each image to non-visual readers.

Scripting and Other Features

  1. Some content on this site is presented using Macromedia Flash, and requires the use of a browser with the Macromedia Flash Player plug-in installed. Most Flash content on this site is also accessible by other means; for example, stylized logos are replaced with static images, whose features are described previous to the current heading.
  2. Some content on this site uses JavaScript. Browsers without JavaScript support, such as text-only browsers, or those with disabled scripting features, can still access a majority of the content; similar, plain-text content is generally rendered using NOSCRIPT features. For example, the navigation bar is rendered either as JavaScript drop-down menus or as text-only hyperlinks.
  3. If you are using a browser which does support the above features, we recommend that you enable the aforementioned features. However, not doing so will most likely not impede upon your ability to enjoy this site.
