Hair is one of America's most beloved folk/rock musicals that captures the vibrant spirit of the generation of hippies, the youth that turned on, tuned in, and dropped out . We follow the "Tribe" or a group of high school and college drop outs who have made a hippie camp in the middle of Central Park. We take the journey with them as they rage against the draft, protest the war in Vietnam, grapple with social and racial inequalities, battle the older oppressive generation of their parents and war mongering political bureaucrats, and attempt to build a community of their own: one of love, individuality, drugs, and freedom.
